If I say anything to correct the misinterpretation of my words it will just continue the arguement, so I will say nothing and leave people to judge for themselves. ECD, you hit the nail on the head! PUK's management of this forum is totally reactive rather than being proactive.
Ray, i already raised a number of the issues currently being discussed about the forum, with PUK senior management before the Forum advisory panel idea was put forward. Furthermore having looked into the advisory panel, its just going to be another web chat? I was asked if i would take part but declined because i feel its PUK just wall papering over cracks and paying lip service to the issues as they appear to be on other matters, such as tackling the OCD problem caused by meds. I attended the first OCD steering group meeting in London well over a month ago? Yet despite me chasing them, they still havant published the minutes or action plan from that meeting! Furthermore i had a news cutting sent to me from last Fridays News & Star reporting about the latest court case involving a man charged with sex offences while taking DA's. When PUK were asked to comment they said and i quote, "PUK is aware of a possible link between this class of drugs and behavioural problem." Possible link my a** that statement is at least 5 years out of date and it does not fill me with confidence that PUK are on top of their game! Given my experience of the snail pace in which they operate the steering group along with this lastest outdated statement on DA side effects, the chances of making any meaningful progress on forum problems via some advisory panel, is in my opinion zero.

Hi Bluey.
There was an attempt last year to start up a series of meetings between Steve Ford and Forum users. At Steve's request this was going to be an online dial-in meeting, and participants had to register in advance. Due to the technical incompetence of Steve's IT/network team (and this is one area I really AM qualified to judge, having spent my whole working life in that business), the whole thing collapsed, with only about 3 people managing to get through.
No further meetings, online or otherwise, ever followed, and the idea just petered out: another good idea quietly discarded. Steve's report to the outside world on the success of this meeting bore as much of a resemblance to reality as I do to a yak. Forum posts relating to this can be found around the post by Steve Ford on 10/03/2010 at 19:51 under ABOUT THE FORUM - TONIGHT'S MEETING. Forum users' comments follow that one. As far as the OCD group meeting (which I was too unwell to attend) is concerned, it was my assumption that the minutes/notes produced were (effectively) the "Action Plan" which can be found by clicking SUPPORT US at the top of this page and then scrolling down to selecting CAMPAIGNS on the left hand side, then scrolling down again to RAISING AWARENESS....
The plan itself is pure Civil Service. It contains a lot of milestone dates, but there's beggar-all real meat in it, and no specific actions assigned to named individuals.
It is also my assumption that the Advisory Panel's progress will be much the same as that of the Ford/Members meetings and the OCD Group meetings, making 3 out of 3 failures down the plughole!

I noticed that someone called Eck I think had his post edited........I assume a HIM he in fact got my sex wrong lol. I must admit I wasnt that bothered by it just thought wow what are you taking so personal I never singled anyone out just thought after reading it what a shame and how nasty EVERYONE was to each other such a shame when we are supposed to be shoulder to shoulder not bickering over playground power.

I haven't visited the site for months, but it's not because the few that irritate irritate if you see what I mean. I just dip in and out when I feel like it, and the advice and support from other Parkinsonsians far outweighs those minor (gl)itches!
