Today was a good day

Hello steve2, it comes to something when you have a good day because you were given a date for an MRI scan but, given your circumstances and how you came to get that date, it makes perfect sense. Hope the results come through quickly and that they give you some long overdue giid news.

That’s wonderful to hear! It’s so important to celebrate and hold on to those good days. Sometimes, just a small victory or a moment of feeling well can make a huge difference.

Thank you for sharing your positive energy with this community. It’s inspiring to be reminded that even with the challenges of Parkinson’s, there are still good days to be found and cherished. Wishing you many more of them!

This beautiful photo was taken by my friend in her garden this morning. Apart from immediately making me think Christmas, for me it’s true beauty is in its simplicity. life with parkinson’s can complicate so much that too often we use precious time bemoaning our lot in one way or another and sometimes that’s what we have to do to keep going . today however i used some of that precious time to recognise how good this little robin photo made me feel. it was why i started this thread and why now for me it is what i originally envisaged - an occasionsl post when a little detail made my day brighter. that’s exactly what this photo has done for me today. it madw a diffivult day better and ir doesn’t get better than that

Hi Tot, another lovely photo. Today is a good day, in no particular order

We are about to become grandparents - first time!

After a very long year I have finally moved house and boxes are finding their way between rooms.
Season Greetings :santa_claus:

Hello AnaElsa

Many congratulations on your lovely news about becoming grandparents and successfully moving. Enjoy Christmas in your new home - you have quite a year to look forward to.

Since starting this post post just over four years ago, I have written a post each Christmas and I saw no reason not to carry on except what’s to say this year, I ask myself. Usually I give a bit of thought to it around early December and go to a public domain site to find an image to go with it. This year I haven’t done that and the reason is actually quite simple. Christmas has rather taken me by surprise this year - I knew it was there of course but this year, especially the second half, has gone by so fast I am now playing catch up with less than a week to go. So for this year I will simply say to all who post on this thread, that whatever your year has been like and whether you have Parkinson’s or are connected to it in some other way, don’t underestimate how much good can come from posting on this thread a simple good news story or image that may help more people than is immediately oapparent. I personally like to reread some from time to time, including some of my own because they serve as a reminder there is very often something positive in any day, even if only the briefest glimmer if your day seems to be a bit of a disaster……I seem to have managed quite a long post despite the lack of planning this year but maybe that just reflects that for me, as you all know, my way of living with Parkinson’s is to try and stay positive however my day, week, month or year is going. I think that has become such a strong element in my mindset, I just consider it to be part of me these days.

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and New Year and although your approach to Parkinson’s may be different to mine, keep an eye out for those today is a good day moments and post them here if you wish.

I have had a very good day. It was such a lovely morning after some wet, cold and miserable days that we decided to take advantage and have a walk for my session with Claire this morning. We walked from the flat to a country park near me, followed a route we know well - although rather muddy underfoot - and walked home a distance of about 4 miles in 70 minutes. I was delighted with both the distance and the time. I also took a taxi to a friend’s this afternoon as I had quite a big bag of things for her but walked home - she lives at the other end of the village about a 20-30 minute walk,

That’s a successful day in anyone’s book but Parkinson’s was definitely not the winner today.

One year we was a little early, the next a little late but today was third time lucky and we saw the snowdrops display at it’s very best. They were literally everywhere. It was a cold, cloudy and overcast day but it is indeed very special when a small flower that is short lived, can lift the spirits and quietly, without fanfare announce that Spring is on the way. Today was indeed a very good day.
