Hi all, newly diagnosed here 55 yrs quite fit and healthy so this is a major shock.
No support as such yet just diagnosis 12 days ago and promises of a confirmation letter,
specialist nurse support and immediately offered levadopa. Am doing my research being a college lecturer. Still in shock & disbelief mostly. Early days - could do with contact and support moving forward and to join meetings. Regards Mike

Hi Mpcorb,
Firstly welcome.
I was also shocked, as I am sure we all are, when I first learned about my diagnosis, although I was a a lot older than you at 65.
As you, I do exercise a lot at gym and cycling, so I did not expect it.
I specifically held back for over a year before realizing that I must start taking the levadopa.
Luckily for me it is “slow” which I know is due to the exercise.
I also have seizures and know that after a time the body builds a tolerance to a level of medication, so I was trying to delay that process as long as possible.
I have been on the 1mg for about 4 years now, but realize I must soon now increase the dosage.
I hope that helps.
Hi Clive thanks for your comments, regards Mke
