Yes i do think contacting your MP helps as you all know i contacted my MP and i also gave my story to the Daily mirror , the morning before the story was goiing in the paper the journalist phoned Capita and the DWP for there comments , miraculously dwp called the journalist back on the afternoon saying they had made there decision , i had my assessment on 6th March dwp had my report on the 18th March and a decision was made on the 25th March , i believe the decision was made so quickly because they had my MP and also the journalist on there backs and in my opinion dwp made the decision that day to try to save face in the press the next day so yes i think it does help yes
Thanks for all your support as usual, Yes Paul I got 6 points so I only need another 2, 2 little points seems so silly doesnt it.
As for the equipment I had that when I had my assessment, She noted down I had raised blocks on my sofa, A raised toilet seat, A perching stool, Arm cruthes and grabrails in the bathroom.
I didnt get any points for that otherwise I would of got my 8 or more needed.
She noted down all my equipment and I still didnt get it.
Maybe its just not meant to be for me.
Thanks anyway guys, I am grateful for all the help and support you give me.
Will update you when I have been given the bad news.
There just trying it on because I got 2 points because I need help managing my toilet needs.I dont believe how they can be so wicked it defeats my imagination .I go through life treating others the way I expect to be treated myself thats the way I was brought up.
You need to get back in touch with your MP and tell them that you have got aids in your bathroom and have not been awarded the points believe me you have got it candy there just trying it on hun stay strong and make sure you tell your mp.Do you need supervision to prepare a meal I mean you cant peel and prepare vedgetables because of your condition thats worth 2 to 4 points have another look at the pips points system google it and then you and your partner go through the descripters with a fine toothcomb and write down the results be very thorough i would be surprised if you did not get 12 points never mind 8 keep in touch dont give up there trying to walk all over you they tried it with me and got nowhere take heart from my fight hun.............Paul
Hi candy thats the spirit you have got to live hun If you and me had our way we would not have Parkinsons but we have and we have to work with what we have got think on and speak or email your MP on Monday he or she is your democratically elected reresentative and there to help you dont forget Candy keep in touch..........Paul
Well I sent an E-Mail to my Mp`s office and about an hour later I got a phone call from his team.
A very nice lady took my National Insurance number and she said she was going to get in touch with the DWP on my behalf, She said they have such a huge backlog and that they had just helped a lady get her assessment appt after waiting a year!!!
She said they have helped many people like myself and she said she would E-Mail me as soon as she had done it that afternoon.
I was really excited and like a child kept checking my inbox every few minutes, But sadly did not receive the promised E-Mail.
I am just going to assume that she couldnt get through, So another frustrating weekend waiting for me.
I will phone the office tomorrow just in case I have been forgotten.
This is really starting to get to me now, I get a glimmer of hope and then its dashed, Do you believe that some things are not meant to be?
Thats how its starting to feel for me, I get one step nearer then two steps back. I foolishly thought it would be done and dusted that day but I am getting so desperate for this to be over even having to wait the weekend has been so frustrating, I cant wait for Monday morning to find out if they have been able to help me.
The sad thing is I want the decision but I am also dreading it because I think it will break me if I am turned down again.
The thing is they turned you down last time because you did not achieve the minimum of 8 points. The way your claim was scored sounds ridiculous. However since you applied for mandatory reconsideration you have sent in more evidence which should take you over 8 points and hopefully 12 points. As long as you fulfil the pip criteria and score points you should be ok especially on reconsideration because I believe they try ot on and then look at the claim in a whole different way when you stand up to be counted as in reconsideration. Its dead crafty as a lot of people would receive the first decision and just crumble and say they cant be bothered appealing and so they dont the system is designed that way for you to go quietly. Take me for example I received the phone call from the decision maker trying to put me off recondsideration when I would not be put off he got snotty and irritated because he knew with my condition I would probally win and I did after a battle. So Candy its the same for you make sure you exhaust all the appeals as far as you can dont fold and give up whatever you do..........................Paul
Thanks Paul, Yes I remember you saying how snotty the decision maker was when you asked for reconsideration, They do want you to give up and to go away.
I had a lovely E-Mail from my MP`S office and they sent me a copy of the correspondence that they have sent to the DWP on my behalf.
It really does put my case across well and I am hopeful that I will have a decision soon now.
How long just out of interest did it take them to change your decision when your MP got involved Paul.
I believe it wasnt long if I am correct in thinking.
How is your appeal preparation going Paul, I hope it is going well.
Will keep you updated on any news. Good luck with everything and thanks for your continuing support.
Hows the ESA going Shelly? Any news yet, I hope you dont have to wait long.
With me I asked my mp to get involved before the 26 weeks and then again at 37 weeks during reconsideration
I would say having your mp involved is a good thing because they are not just answering to you but another authority as well. I would say that if your being kept waiting like yourself then you have done excactly the right thing
What are your total time scales at present how long has your reconsideration been in now it took eleven weeks for me so that may give you an idea Candy
I have sent my paperwork in to the HM courts and tribunal service yesterday then they send off to the DWP for my case notes and just for a change the DWP have a month to respond to the tribunal I have a moth to appeal and the DWP have a moonth to respond to the tribunal
Good luck Candy...............................Paul
No news on the ESA Candy , i do not hold out any hope of hearing anything this year , When i phoned Atos i was told my papers were in the queue for medical practitoner to look at them , when i asked how long Atos just said they do not know there is a backlog , i said i sent lots evidence including my pip report he said pip is not relevant to ESA to which i replied No i know that but there is a descriptor in ESA that gives you a automatic 15 points if you cannot move more than 50 mtrs , and my pip reprt stated i cannot mobilise more than 20 mtrs so therefore i consider my pip report to be relevant medical evidence i can feel the deja vu feeling coming on
Good luck Candy and Paul keep up the fight let them know you are not giving up xxx
Can I rack your brains, Anyone know what AP ADVICE IS???
I had an EMAIL from my MP just now. They have checked the progress of my claim and they said the extra medical evidence was being looked at, They also said that they were waiting for AP advice from Capita.
They said they asked what this was and the person they spoke to didnt know, Thats nice to know isnt it, People who work there dont even know what it means.
So anyone know what AP advice is, If Capita are involved it could mean bloody anything.
I would be grateful if any of you can shed some light on this for me.
Its probably a code for bugger off or something like that.
Hello Shelly thanks for your continued support and keep on at them regading esa have you thought about going through your mp yourself
Hello Gus I will be down in Bournemouth from 1st to 8th of September during which time will spend a few days in Weymouth cant wait its my second home...................Paul
Thanks Paul, I thought additional points was asking to much.
Well its certainly a step in the right direction. I agree with Paul, Maybe you should get in touch with your MP Shelly, It is absurd you will have to wait until next year as they have such a backlog.
Paul I am sorry for asking a personal question and you dont have to answer it but may I ask how soon you got your back payment after your Manditory Reconsideration was accepted.
I was just wondering if it was a quick process once you actually get accepted.
Have a lovely time in Weymouth Paul. And thanks for all the continuing support everyone it means such a lot to know that you are all there to help and keep me going.
Well i will get my MP involved but i dont think i can moan to much at the minute as i am only into the 11th week of my claim so will give it a while longer, i know of people who filled in a esa50 last December and aew still waiting for there claims to be looked at so no hope for me i dont think
Paul
You are very welcome
Paul and Candy
